General

Yes. RO Tech Solutions is fully licensed and insured for residential and commercial security installations in British Columbia.
Yes. All site assessments and quotes are completely free with no obligation. We visit your property, assess your needs, and provide a transparent written quote before any work begins.
We confirm all quote requests within 1 business day. From there, we schedule your site visit at a time that works for you.
Our office hours are Monday–Friday 9AM–5PM. For existing monitoring customers, emergency support is available through the monitoring station 24/7.

Alarm Systems

Proprietary systems lock you into one monitoring company at their rates, forever. Non-proprietary (open) systems give you the freedom to choose any monitoring provider, switch if you're unhappy, and upgrade hardware independently. We believe that's the only fair way to do security.
Yes. All our alarm panels include a backup battery that keeps the system operational for several hours during a power outage. Cellular communication keeps the monitoring connection active even if your internet goes down.
Absolutely. Our systems are designed to be expandable. You can add CCTV cameras, smart locks, or access control at any point — no full reinstall required.
A standard residential alarm system takes 3–5 hours. Larger homes or commercial installs may take a full day or require multiple visits, which we'll outline before we start.

CCTV & Cameras

It depends on your property. A typical home needs 4–8 cameras covering entry points, the driveway, backyard, and common areas. We assess your property during the site visit and recommend exact placement — no guesswork pricing.
Yes. All cameras we install include infrared night vision providing clear footage in complete darkness up to 20–30 metres. Colour night vision models are also available.
Yes. All systems include remote viewing via mobile app. You can watch live feeds, review recorded footage, and receive motion alerts from anywhere in the world.
With a local NVR, typically 30–90 days depending on camera count and hard drive size. Cloud backup is available for extended or offsite storage.

Access Control & Intercoms

You deactivate that credential instantly in the management software — no re-keying required. The lost card becomes useless within seconds and a new one can be issued immediately.
Yes. Modern IP-based enterphone systems route calls to residents' smartphones. They can see the visitor via video, speak with them, and grant access remotely — even if they're not home.
Yes. Strata and multi-family projects are a significant part of our business. We coordinate with strata councils, property managers, and building owners throughout the entire process.

Monitoring

The monitoring station receives the signal immediately. An operator attempts to verify the alarm by contacting you. If they can't reach you, or you confirm an intrusion, they dispatch police, fire, or ambulance based on the event type.
Because we use non-proprietary equipment, you're free to choose your monitoring provider. Residential monitoring typically ranges from $25–$55/month depending on the provider and plan. We can recommend reputable Canadian monitoring stations.
No. Monitoring is optional. With Alarm.com, you can self-monitor via app notifications. Professional monitoring is an add-on for those who want an extra layer of response.
Some municipalities charge fines for false police dispatches. Our alarm programming and verification process significantly reduces false dispatches. We also train you thoroughly on arming and disarming to prevent accidental triggers.
